Pondera Winery is a family owned, boutique winery located in the artisan winery district of Woodinville. Wine maker, Shane Howard, has been making wine since 2003 and the winery was officially launched with the Pondera brand in early 2005. The winery specializes in the production of high quality, well balanced red varietals and Bordeaux style blends. Our grapes are sourced from six outstanding vineyards covering three different AVA’s of Washington state. Each wine is very limited and our entire production is currently less than 1200 cases annually.

Summer is almost here and we're kicking the season off by releasing two new wines perfect for all of your warm weather entertaining.
Just got back from a fabulous day at the Golden Grape Awards, where Woodinville's top wine makers both compete and judge the best of the best wines made in Woodinville. Pondera's SVS number one was selected as the number one Bordeaux style blend, plus we were awarded the King's Cup for best overall scores in this year's competition. 2012 Chardonnay - $28
Our 2012 Chardonnay is simply a delight. This is Pondera's third vintage for Chardonnay and this one is arguably our best and easily our favorite thus far. Everything came together in 2012 from perfect weather to perfect grapes. An expressive nose full of vibrant lime, mango and lemon peel starts the parade of flavors and stone fruits and ripe honeydew melon join in to add even more charm. Skilled winemaking and restrained use of oak prevents this wine from being heavy or over the top. Well balanced, with good structure and acidity this Chard's a fantastic choice to pair with chicken, shellfish or seafood. It's ready to enjoy now, but will gain even greater depth and complexity over the next several years. Our 2011 Chardonnay is now sold out and was rated Gold at last year's Seattle Wine Awards and in the top three at the Golden Grape Awards.

We are proud to be part of the Rosé revolution that is currently sweeping across the
American palate. This marks our third Rosé release and it's gonna make you smile!
Dry, delightful and delicious are the three standards we set for making our Rosé. A proprietary blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, it's a bottle full of sliced watermelon, ripe strawberries and fresh floral flavors. By far one of the most versatile of wines, Rosé treads fearlessly into the kitchen, pairing nicely with both white or red wine foods. And of course, it's always great as a summer sipper. Meant to be enjoyed on release and over the next year, we think you're going to love our 2012 Rosé.
